Our Mission

Noor El-Salam is an organization which seeks to educate refugee children in Lebanon who are not allowed to obtain an education within the country, and to provide humanitarian relief to Lebanese communities suffering from lack of electricity, food, and clean water. Noor El-Salam is organized exclusively for charitable, literary, and educational purposes.

We provide education opportunities for marginalized populations within Lebanon and provide humanitarian relief to Lebanese communities who are impoverished and lacking essentials.

We Believe in Transparency

At Noor El-Salam Academy, every dollar you donate makes a direct impact. With an annual operating budget of under $40,000, it costs just $150 to provide education and support for one student for an entire year. Our nonprofit prides itself on efficiency—no salaries or travel expenses are paid from donations, and overhead costs are limited to minimal administrative expenses, totaling less than 6% of contributions.

Oversight is rigorous and transparent, with monthly board meetings involving our lead teacher and bi-annual visits from our founder and president, Amine Tarhini. Donors passionate about our mission are welcome to join us on one of these visits to see firsthand the transformative work being done in Lebanon.
