Light and hope for
refugees in Lebanon.

At Noor El-Salam our mission is to educate refugee and marginalized children in Lebanon who are unable to attend school within the country, and provide humanitarian relief to Lebanese communities suffering from lack of electricity, food, and clean water.

Our History

Noor El-Salam has been providing free education to Syrian refugee children in Lebanon since 2022. Noor Academy is located in one of the poorest districts in Beirut, housing a large population of refugee families. Serving over 200 children aged 5-14 from nearby slums, the Academy offers a vital education to those without access to public or private schooling. The dedicated staff includes a lead teacher, four teachers, an aide, and a custodian, with students attending in two half-day groups. Additionally, a midday class supports older, unschooled children who are new to learning. Operating year-round with a break in August, the Academy relies on support to fund essentials like schoolbooks, rent, and salaries, ensuring a brighter future for these young learners.

Our Impact

  • In less than 3 years, we gave away $77,000 for education and aid assistance.

  • 485 children have been able to attend school.

  • More than 200 are currently enrolled in our Academy.

  • 130 families were provided with emergency funding for living expenses for 1 month.

  • 60 food boxes and 110 vouchers for food and supplies were given to displaced persons.

  • Schooling and aid is available to all families regardless of religious affiliation.
